Winter is a time when bodies can easily get cold and digestive rhythms can be disrupted.
Here, we introduce "Winter Yakuzen Recipes to Add," which gently support circulation, moisture, and digestion with just a small addition to your dog's regular meals.
Please try these recipes with ingredients that suit your dog's health condition and preferences, without overdoing it.


Herbal Oden with Wanko Dash

Ingredients

  • Cod (skin and bone-free) …… 80g
  • Daikon radish (peeled) …… 80g
  • Firm tofu …………… 60g
  • Komatsuna (leaf tips) …… 20g
  • Jujube (dried) ……… 1 piece
  • Ginger ………………… 0.5g
  • Water …………………… 400ml
  • Wanko Dash ………… 1 packet

Preparation

  • In a pot, combine one packet of Wanko Dash, 400 ml of water, jujube, and ginger. Heat over medium heat.
  • Slice daikon radish thinly (about 0.5cm) and cut into triangles.
  • Cut firm tofu into 1cm cubes.
  • Use only the leaf tips of komatsuna, roll them up, and secure with a toothpick.

Instructions

  1. In a pot, add 1 packet of dog dashi, 400ml water, jujube, and ginger, and heat over medium heat.
  2. After boiling for about 5 minutes, remove the dashi pack and ginger.
  3. Add daikon radish and simmer until soft, about 10 minutes.
  4. Add cod (shaped into balls), firm tofu, and komatsuna, and gently simmer for another 10 minutes, being careful not to overboil.
  5. Once the daikon radish is soft, it's ready.

Tip

We also recommend finely chopping the cooked jujube and using it as a topping.

Daikon Radish

An ingredient that aids digestion and gently regulates circulation. It mildly supports the stomach and intestines after meals.

Firm Tofu

An ingredient that moisturizes the body and gently regulates the internal system. It is a gentle source of protein that is easy on the stomach and intestines.

Komatsuna

An ingredient that replenishes blood and balances nutrition in winter. It gently supports mineral intake.

Cod

An easily digestible ingredient that provides high-quality protein. Suitable for senior dogs and those who need to limit fat intake.

Jujube

An ingredient that tonifies qi and blood, balancing the entire body. Its gentle sweetness makes it easy to incorporate into yakuzen.

Ginger (for aroma)

An ingredient to consider for poor circulation caused by cold. The key is to use a small amount for a short time.
